What's the role?
We're looking for a GM of Spiral to own and grow our AI writing partner with taste. Spiral helps writers produce their best work by understanding their voice and collaborating with them through the writing process. You'll take the reins of a product that's already found traction (~10K MRR) and scale it to the next level.
This role sits at the intersection of writing, product, and AI. You'll shape the future of how people write with AI-not by replacing their voice, but by amplifying it.

You'd be our go-to person for:
- Owning the product end-to-end: From roadmap to shipping features to fixing bugs. You're technical enough to build and improve the product yourself.
- Defining the vision for AI-assisted writing: You have opinions on what great AI writing tools should do (and shouldn't do), informed by your own experience as a writer.
- Building and refining LLM-powered experiences: Improving how Spiral handles drafts, conversations, style transfer, and more.
- Growing the product: Working with our growth team to drive adoption, retention, and revenue.
- Evangelizing Spiral: You understand writers because you are one, and you can speak authentically to our audience.
This role is perfect for someone who's:
- A writer first: You identify as a writer and have a body of work that reflects it. You understand the craft from the inside.
- Technical enough to ship: You can build features, fix bugs, and work in a codebase. You don't need a team to execute.
- Experienced with LLM/chat-based products: You've built or worked extensively with AI-powered conversational experiences and understand the nuances of prompting and model behavior.
- Opinionated about the problem space: You have a point of view on AI writing tools, what's broken, and what could be transformative.
Nice to have:
- Experience with AI writing tools, style transfer.
- Background in marketing teams or content organizations
- Track record of scaling products beyond initial traction
